Madison Magazine will host a BBQ Festival at Meyer Oak Grove Park in Sauk City on May 16-17. The Saturday hours are 12-12 and the Sunday hours are 12-5. This is a FREE ADMISSION event although sampling the BBQ rewuires a wristband purchase.

The BBQ Festival is a Kansas City Barbecue Society sanctioned competition (I guess that means damn good BBQ). Thirty of the nation’s top competitors will face-off.

Saturday’s music stage is a full day of entertainment. Here is the lineup:

12 Noon – Mad Pole Cats

2 PM – Katie Scullin

3:30 pm – Mighty Wheelhouse

5:15 pm – Derek Pritzl Band

7 pm – Kaleo (from Iceland)

9 pm – Mojo Radio

 

Sunday’s stage lineup:

12 Noon – Retro Specz

2 pm – The Jimmys

 

This a family-friendly event with a Kid Zone with all kinds of activities.

There will be plenty of food, drink and beer.
