As part of the Dane County Library Service’s month-long celebration of jazz, the Greater Madison Jazz Consortium will present a series of performances at the Madison Central Library. The series is significant especially considering its focus on original works by local jazz artists.

The InDIGenous series offers performances by local musicians as well as musicians from throughout the upper Midwest in an effort to build reciprocal relationships with presenters and creating new performance opportunities for local musicians elsewhere in the region.”

There are three performances remaining and here is when you can catch them:

  • April 16: Drummer Devin Drobka (performing with his “Bell Dance Songs” band, including bassist John Christensen)
  • April 23: Chinchano (Afro-Peruvian group from Chicago)
  • April 30: Trumpeter Paul Dietrich (performing with his quintet)
