Madison singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Sam Lyons will unleash his third album on December 4th with a release party at the Brink Lounge. The celebration will get underway at 8 pm. Lyons, who appears solo and in other configurations, will have a full six-piece band with him for the occasion.
The new CD is entitled Trance and once again showcases Lyons’ many talents with eleven original songs on which he plays most of the instruments. Trance was largely recorded at his home studio and is self-produced. Mike Zirkel assisted with mixing and mastering duties. Other guest appearances include brother Clay on sax and vocals, long-time drummer Chris DiBernardo, Sam Wirth and Liam Patton on keys, and dad Phil on bass and vocals.
Lyons is a marvel for his age. He recently deferred a scholarship to the Berklee College of Music to concentrate on getting Trance recorded. At only nineteen he has several awards to his credit in addition to the completion of three full-length recordings and several prominent stage appearances.
Here is a video Sam produced for his song “Superficial Girl” from his 2013 album The Light.
