Beth Kille Set to Release New Album “Dust” on Requius Records

Recent News 30 Oct 2012

Indie rocker and 2011 Madison Area Music Association (MAMA) Artist of the Year award winner, Beth Kille will release her second full-length solo album at The High Noon Saloon on Saturday November 3rd at 6pm.  Kille, a veteran songwriter, put out three earlier albums with her former band, Clear Blue Betty from 2004 to 2008 and release her first full-length solo album Ready in December of 2010 when she was 7 months pregnant.  Today though, Kille finds that the responsibilities of being a mom as well as the Music Director for Girls Rock Camp: Madison have slowed her once-prolific songwriting wheels.  When it came time to make Dust, Kille reached back into her vast catalog of songs and came up with 12 tracks that were written between 2004 and 2009.

Kille says that “it was rather odd to put out an album that wasn’t spurred by a songwriting frenzy… but my husband (drummer Tony Kille) has been on my case since we moved back to Madison, from Texas in 2009, to put together a collection of all the Americana-Rock tunes I wrote while living down south.”

Dust features ten songs penned in the Lonestar state, two Clear Blue Betty remakes and a cover of John Prine’s Angel from Montgomery.  Four tracks are cowritten; two with Connie Mims (winner of the 2009 Academy of Texas Music award for Songwriter of the Year) and two with Grammy-nominated country artist, Jessi Lynn.
